Engaging in detailed deliberations with grassroots workers during his visit to the textile hub of Tiruppur on August 28, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin participated in an interactive cadres conference focused on regional industrial issues and women's livelihood concerns. During the session, members of the DMK Women's Wing formally handed over petitions detailing severe difficulties faced by female textile workers, including wage stagnation, lack of safe working conditions, erratic drinking water supply, and skyrocketing prices of essential kitchen commodities under the current state regime. Stalin personally received every representation, listening patiently to the women functionaries and assuring them that their grievances would be actively championed through legislative interventions and public demonstrations. He pointed out that Tiruppur's globally renowned export textile cluster had been critically damaged by severe power cuts, effluent treatment policy delays, and administrative neglect by the state government. Stalin lauded the exemplary organizational spirit shown by the women's wing, reminding the audience that female leadership is central to the Dravidian movement's vision of social transformation. He urged cadres to stand firmly with working women and mobilize community support for their socio-economic security.
