Joining thousands of impassioned demonstrators in Chennai on September 3, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin actively participated in a massive state demonstration organized by the Tamil Eelam Supporters Organisation (TESO) to condemn the ongoing mistreatment and political subjugation of Tamils in Sri Lanka. Standing alongside prominent political leaders, human rights advocates, and party cadres, Stalin forcefully protested against the Sri Lankan government's repressive military occupation, illegal land grabs, and continuous denial of fundamental civil liberties to Tamil communities. He condemned the apathy shown by international monitoring bodies toward recurring reports of state-sponsored harassment, forced demographic alterations, and the destruction of cultural heritage sites across traditional Tamil homelands. Stalin emphasized that the Dravidian movement has consistently championed the dignity and survival of ethnic Tamils across the Palk Strait through decades of democratic resistance. He urged the Union government of India to abandon its passive foreign policy posture, take a decisive stand at international diplomatic forums, and actively demand complete political devolution and human rights protections for Sri Lankan Tamils, ensuring that their historic aspirations for dignity and justice are realized.
