Fostering inter-state cultural solidarity and linguistic preservation, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin held a cordial interactive session with a delegation from the DMK Literary Wing's Karnataka state chapter at party headquarters Anna Arivalayam in Chennai on September 4, 2014. The visiting literary delegates presented reports detailing their initiatives to promote Tamil education, celebrate Dravidian literary stalwarts, and protect the cultural rights of Tamil-speaking linguistic minorities residing in Bengaluru, Kolar Gold Fields, and across Karnataka. Stalin lauded their steadfast commitment to preserving the mother tongue, organizing poetry symposiums, and establishing community libraries for Tamil families living outside the state. He emphasized that the Dravidian movement has historically recognized language not merely as a communication tool, but as the living essence of cultural dignity, rationalist thought, and social liberation. Stalin assured the delegation that the DMK will persistently support their literary endeavors and raise concerns regarding educational resources for linguistic minority schools with relevant state and central authorities. He encouraged the literary wing to publish classical and contemporary Dravidian literature, fostering harmonious cultural exchanges while defending the constitutional rights of linguistic minorities across neighboring southern states.
