Encouraging broad-based citizen participation in public service and state policy formation, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin announced on September 6, 2014, a dedicated volunteer registration initiative on his newly revamped official web portal. Stalin extended an open invitation to educated youth, professionals, social activists, domain experts, and community organizers across Tamil Nadu to enlist as volunteers and actively contribute their skills toward building an equitable, prosperous, and progressive state. He emphasized that genuine democratic governance requires active collaboration between political leadership and informed citizens rather than passive spectatorship. Registered volunteers will have opportunities to participate in social welfare programs, conduct field surveys, design localized community interventions, assist during emergency relief operations, and contribute constructive policy recommendations across vital sectors including public health, quality schooling, industrial growth, and environmental sustainability. Stalin highlighted that the Dravidian movement has always derived its historic vitality from passionate grassroots activists dedicated to rationalism and egalitarian reform. By opening digital pathways for educated youth to engage meaningfully in civic governance, Stalin aimed to bridge traditional politics with contemporary professional expertise, inspiring a new generation to participate actively in shaping Tamil Nadu's socio-economic destiny.
