By-election victory of ADMK is not a reflection of ‘Gramma Rajyam’ (Village empowerment) but of ADMK’s ‘Arajaga Rajyam’ (Atrocities).
Offering a sharp and unsparing critique of the ruling party's victory in recent local by-elections, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin declared that the outcome did not signify genuine democratic endorsement or grassroots empowerment ('Grama Rajyam'), but rather reflected the complete prevalence of ruling party coercion and administrative abuse ('Arajaga Rajyam'). Stalin pointed out that the AIADMK administration had weaponized the entire state bureaucratic and police machinery to intimidate opposition workers, subvert electoral neutrality, and distribute illicit inducements on an unprecedented scale. He observed that ordinary village voters were subjected to systemic administrative coercion, while opposition candidates were obstructed from conducting normal campaign outreach by local police officials acting on partisan instructions. Stalin asserted that winning elections through blatant misuse of state authority and suppression of voters' free will undermines the foundational fabric of constitutional democracy. He affirmed that such artificial electoral victories cannot mask the profound public discontent brewing against the ruling dispensation across Tamil Nadu. Stalin rallied DMK cadres to remain fearless and resilient, pledging to redouble their grassroots political struggle to safeguard constitutional values, democratic norms, and free, transparent elections across Tamil Nadu.
