Leading an intensive public demonstration against escalating living costs and administrative apathy, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin strongly condemned the AIADMK government for imposing steep price hikes on essential milk supplies and electricity tariffs while abandoning rain-affected farmers across Tamil Nadu. Addressing a massive gathering of citizens and agricultural workers, Stalin pointed out that sudden tariff hikes on everyday staples severely penalized working-class households already struggling with economic stagnation. Concurrently, unseasonal torrential rains had submerged thousands of acres of standing paddy crops across the Cauvery delta and northern districts, pushing farming families into acute indebtedness. Stalin slammed the state administration for failing to conduct comprehensive crop loss assessments, distribute prompt disaster compensation, or coordinate with national insurance agencies to settle farmer claims. He asserted that while ruling ministers remained indifferent to rural misery, ordinary citizens and agriculturists were left without financial aid or administrative guidance. Stalin demanded that the government immediately roll back arbitrary utility tariff increases, disburse direct compensation of twenty-five thousand rupees per acre to rain-affected farmers, and ensure transparent distribution of subsidized agricultural inputs to protect rural food security.
