Highlighting multiple pressing crises affecting the citizens of Tamil Nadu, DMK Treasurer and Kolathur legislator M. K. Stalin submitted an urgent demand calling upon the state administration to convene the winter legislative assembly session without further delay. Stalin pointed out that vital public matters, including severe drought and unseasonal flood damage across farming belts, crippling power outages, escalating prices of basic commodities, and widespread civic distress, urgently required comprehensive debate on the floor of the house. He criticized the ruling AIADMK government for avoiding legislative scrutiny, accusing the executive of using the conviction of its former chief minister as an excuse to shut down parliamentary discussion and freeze public administration. Stalin asserted that in a parliamentary democracy, the legislative assembly is the sovereign forum where people's representatives hold ministers accountable and formulate meaningful policy relief for vulnerable communities. By delaying the mandatory winter session, the ruling regime was evading accountability and abandoning its constitutional duties toward the public. Stalin demanded that the Speaker immediately issue summons for the house to meet, allowing elected representatives to debate public grievances and address administrative stagnation.
