Sharply criticizing the complete disregard for administrative decorum and constitutional protocols displayed by the AIADMK government, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin urged the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues to show basic self-respect and make a genuine effort to govern the state. Stalin pointed out that following the conviction of the former chief minister in a corruption case, the state administration had been reduced to an embarrassing spectacle where ministers refused to occupy official chambers, conducted government meetings with empty chairs, and engaged in public displays of excessive subservience. He remarked that Tamil Nadu was an economically advanced state of over seventy million citizens facing severe power deficits, fiscal crises, agricultural distress, and industrial stagnation, which could not afford an absentee administration operating in perpetual mourning. Stalin emphasized that holding constitutional ministerial portfolios demands adherence to official oaths, institutional dignity, and active public decision-making rather than feudal posturing. He warned the ruling establishment that their abdication of executive responsibility was severely damaging Tamil Nadu's governance reputation, demanding that the cabinet either function with constitutional integrity or resign and face the electorate.
