Interacting with representatives of women's Self Help Groups who called upon him to share their acute livelihood difficulties, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin gave a firm assurance that the DMK would aggressively champion their grievances before governmental authorities. Stalin expressed grave distress over reports that thousands of self-help groups across Tamil Nadu were suffering due to administrative neglect, freezing of revolving funds, and refusal of cooperative banks to extend fresh credit linkages. He stressed that financial self-reliance is the bedrock of female empowerment, enabling women to escape exploitative private debt cycles, educate their children, and participate actively in village civic administration. Stalin promised the visiting delegations that he would raise their issues forcefully with senior departmental secretaries, demand answers inside the state legislative assembly, and initiate grassroots protests to compel the state administration to release overdue subsidies. He recalled how previous DMK administrations under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi transformed Mahalir Thittam into a global model of rural women's empowerment, pledging that upon returning to power, the DMK will revitalize the self-help movement and ensure complete economic security and social dignity for every woman across Tamil Nadu.
