Sounding a grave warning over the complete absence of capital infrastructure development under the ruling AIADMK regime, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin pointed out that not a single major developmental project had been initiated across Tamil Nadu over the past three years. Stalin explained that modern urban centers and growing industrial districts require continuous, visionary capital investments in road corridors, mass rapid transit, storm water drainage, sewage networks, and drinking water reservoirs to keep pace with demographic expansion. He emphasized that by freezing infrastructure spending and abandoning projects conceptualized during the previous DMK government, the ruling regime had pushed existing public infrastructure to the brink of catastrophic collapse. Stalin cited worsening traffic congestion, chronic flooding during monsoons, acute drinking water deficits in summer, and overloaded electrical grids as direct consequences of governmental inertia and lack of strategic planning. He contrasted this neglect with the transformative infrastructure record of the DMK, which constructed modern flyovers, metro rail networks, and extensive highway corridors. Stalin warned that Tamil Nadu's economic vitality and quality of life would permanently suffer unless the administration immediately initiated large-scale infrastructure projects to meet future civic requirements.
