Worsening employment scenario in TN is disturbing. TCS is following Nokia & Foxconn. Families are bearing the brunt of an apathetic govt.
Highlighting the alarming deterioration of Tamil Nadu's industrial and employment landscape, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin expressed profound concern over escalating job losses that were devastating thousands of working families. Stalin pointed out that following the catastrophic shutdown of the Nokia manufacturing facility and Foxconn production units in Sriperumbudur, major information technology corporations like Tata Consultancy Services were undertaking extensive employee retrenchments. He emphasized that educated young professionals, assembly line workers, and ancillary enterprise laborers were bearing the brutal brunt of an apathetic state administration that lacked strategic economic direction. Stalin criticized the ruling AIADMK government for creating an hostile business environment characterized by chronic electricity deficits, bureaucratic inertia, and zero policy support, which was driving major corporate employers out of the state. He recalled that previous DMK administrations under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi systematically attracted multinational manufacturing giants and IT hubs, transforming Tamil Nadu into an industrial powerhouse with abundant white-collar and blue-collar employment. Stalin demanded that the state government immediately intervene, negotiate with corporate managements to halt retrenchments, and present a comprehensive industrial revival package to safeguard industrial livelihoods across Tamil Nadu with unwavering determination.
