Sharply challenging the official crime statistics presented by Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam on the floor of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin accused the AIADMK administration of systematically falsifying law and order records. Stalin asserted that the proxy regime was functioning as a lying government, concocting misleading statistics to conceal an alarming escalation in murders, robberies, extortion rings, and heinous offences against women and children across the state. Citing official National Crime Records Bureau publications and independent reports, Stalin demonstrated that Tamil Nadu had witnessed a sharp surge in sexual assaults, child abuse incidents, and unsolved violent crimes, leaving vulnerable communities in constant dread. He pointed out that rather than strengthening local police stations, filling critical police vacancies, and providing modern forensic resources, the government was coercing law enforcement officers to suppress FIR registrations to artificially project a peaceful atmosphere. Stalin declared that cosmetic data manipulation cannot deceive citizens who experience everyday lawlessness and insecurity in their neighborhoods. He demanded that the Chief Minister stop falsifying facts and implement transparent, rigorous policing measures to ensure public safety.
