Andhra massacare:DMK reiterates demand for inquiry by sitting SC judge.Jayalalitha's statement shows govts half hearted demand for inquiry.
Reiterating the DMK's resolute demand for an inquiry headed by a sitting Supreme Court judge into the cold-blooded massacre of twenty Tamil workers in Andhra Pradesh, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin criticized AIADMK supremo J. Jayalalithaa for her weak and half-hearted response. Stalin pointed out that while twenty impoverished families in Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, and Dharmapuri were mourning their loved ones killed in a staged police shootout, the ruling AIADMK government displayed shocking administrative complacency and political cowardice. He noted that Jayalalithaa's delayed, superficial statement failed to demand criminal murder charges against the Andhra task force personnel or insist on a time-bound judicial inquiry with statutory powers. Stalin emphasized that the brutal killings required a fearless constitutional challenge and united political pressure on both the Andhra Pradesh and Union governments. He contrasted the AIADMK's timid posture with the DMK's decisive legal mobilization, public demonstrations, and financial assistance to the bereaved families. Stalin affirmed that the DMK would continue agitating across parliamentary and judicial forums until full criminal accountability is enforced and justice is secured for the innocent victims of the encounter massacre.
