In yet another suspicious death,Thiru.Parthasarathy who was assisting Sagayam committee in granite investigation was killed in an "accident"
Expressing deep shock and suspicion over the sudden death of V. Parthasarathy in a road collision, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin demanded a comprehensive criminal investigation and heightened security for officials probing illegal granite quarrying. Parthasarathy, a village administrative assistant, had been actively assisting the High Court-appointed commission headed by senior IAS officer U. Sagayam in identifying illegal granite quarries and documenting revenue loss in Madurai district. Stalin pointed out that this fatal incident followed a disturbing pattern of intimidation and suspicious occurrences targeting witnesses and key personnel associated with the granite scam inquiry. He condemned the AIADMK state administration for failing to provide adequate, round-the-clock police protection to the court commissioner, his team, and cooperating witnesses despite repeated appeals. Stalin emphasized that the multi-thousand-crore granite loot involved powerful mining cartels with extensive political patronage, making transparent investigation impossible without independent security safeguards. He called for a judicial probe into Parthasarathy's death and demanded that the state government immediately deploy central paramilitary forces to safeguard Sagayam's team, ensuring that evidence is preserved and perpetrators are prosecuted without obstruction or interference by powerful vested interests.
