Extending energetic political backing to the nationwide Save The Internet movement, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin emphasized that the internet is fundamentally reshaping Indian society by creating unprecedented democratic equality and personal freedom. Stalin observed that for the first time in modern history, digital technology provides a universally accessible platform where ordinary citizens, grassroots entrepreneurs, and underprivileged students can access information and compete on equitable terms. He warned that any compromise on net neutrality through differential pricing or preferential corporate traffic would severely undermine this democratic potential, entrenching monopolistic control over digital pathways. Stalin recalled that the DMK has always championed knowledge democratization, spearheading IT development across Tamil Nadu to empower youth from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. He stressed that an unfettered cyberspace stimulates grassroots innovation, fosters civic engagement, and enables independent media to hold state establishments accountable. Stalin called upon the youth, technological developers, and civil society organizations to unite against corporate gatekeeping, urging the central government to ensure that internet access remains universally affordable, completely unhindered, and equally available to every citizen without commercial prejudice or corporate bias across the entire country.
