In an extensive open letter addressed to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin demanded immediate accountability for the pervasive governance deficit paralyzing the state administration. Stalin highlighted that administrative decision-making had ground to a virtual halt, with major development projects stalled, investor confidence plummeting, and essential civic services neglected across urban and rural centers. He emphasized that the proxy governance model practiced by the ruling AIADMK establishment had subordinated the constitutional authority of the chief minister to external political interests, resulting in executive paralysis and institutional decay. Stalin urged Panneerselvam to break his administrative silence and address pressing public grievances, including crippling agrarian distress, unaddressed unemployment, worsening fiscal deficits, and severe power deficits plaguing industrial units. The open letter outlined detailed policy failures and reminded the administration of its constitutional obligation to govern transparently on behalf of all citizens. Stalin asserted that a state known for pioneering social justice and economic vibrancy could not be allowed to deteriorate into bureaucratic lethargy. He demanded that the government present a credible white paper detailing developmental achievements and fiscal status.
