Stalin expressed profound outrage and condemnation on July 25, 2015, over the shocking, callous remarks made by Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh in Parliament, where the minister absurdly attributed tragic farmer suicides across India to romantic affairs, dowry disputes, and personal impotence rather than crippling agrarian debt and systemic crop destruction. Stalin denounced the statement as an unforgivable insult to the hardworking farming community of the nation.

Stalin emphasized that farmers across the country, especially in the Cauvery delta and rainfed drylands of Tamil Nadu, were being pushed into deep distress by severe droughts, soaring agricultural input costs, unremunerative crop prices, and harassment from predatory banking recovery agents. Trivializing their tragic deaths with frivolous, humiliating excuses demonstrated a shocking moral bankruptcy and complete detachment from agrarian realities on the part of the Union government.

Stalin demanded an unconditional public apology from the Union Agriculture Minister for demeaning the memory of deceased cultivators. He urged both central and state governments to address the structural agrarian crisis by waiving agricultural loans, ensuring fair minimum support prices, and providing comprehensive drought compensation.
