DMK treasurer and Kolathur legislator M.K. Stalin spent July 26, 2015, engaging in intimate, street-level consultative dialogues with local residents under the banner of his grassroots outreach initiative 'Pesalam Vanga' (Come, Let's Talk). Walking through residential colonies, tenements, and small market streets, Stalin interacted directly with families, elderly pensioners, women, and shopkeepers to understand the micro-level civic infrastructure deficiencies affecting their daily lives.
Residents openly voiced pressing everyday problems, including uncollected household garbage, sewage overflows contaminating street corners, erratic garbage clearance by private contractors, and poor street illumination leading to safety concerns after dark. Stalin sat with community members on residential verandas, documented individual petitions, and directed his constituency office staff to liaise immediately with Chennai Corporation officials and local police inspectors to rectify specific grievances without delay.
Stalin stated that effective legislative representation requires constant accessibility and empathetic listening to the public. He promised the residents of Kolathur that he would persistently pursue their civic demands with municipal authorities, reaffirming that the DMK's priority remains transparent, accountable grassroots public service across Tamil Nadu to improve the lives of all citizens.
