DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin announced on September 5, 2015, that the monumental 'Vidiyal Meetpu Perani' rally taking place in Tiruppur would be broadcast live across digital media platforms, inviting citizens across Tamil Nadu and the global Tamil diaspora to tune in at 4:00 PM via Periscope and YouTube. Stalin emphasized the importance of leveraging modern digital communication to connect directly with citizens and bypass state-controlled broadcast monopolies.

The live stream allowed hundreds of thousands of viewers who could not travel to Tiruppur to witness the massive public mobilization, listen to frontline leaders, and participate virtually in the collective call for political transformation. At a time when the ruling AIADMK government exercised strict censorship over state television channels and harassed private broadcasters, the DMK pioneered the use of interactive digital platforms to deliver transparent political communication directly to smartphones and homes.
