DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin announced on September 7, 2015, that he was eagerly looking forward to participating in Puthuyuga Sirpikal, a mega student and youth conclave scheduled to convene in Tiruvannamalai on September 11. Framing the event under the participatory banner #Ideas4TN, Stalin emphasized that engaging directly with college youth is essential for developing progressive solutions to the pressing socio-economic challenges facing Tamil Nadu.
Stalin noted that the conclave was conceived as an open, non-hierarchical forum where students from diverse academic disciplines—ranging from agricultural sciences and engineering to humanities and fine arts—could present their perspectives without political interference. In an era marked by rising graduate unemployment, outdated educational syllabi, and administrative apathy under the AIADMK regime, Stalin highlighted the urgent necessity of bridging the gap between student aspirations and legislative governance.
Stalin encouraged students across the state to attend the gathering and participate actively in panel discussions. He reiterated the DMK's historic commitment to student welfare and educational democratization, promising that the conclave will establish a permanent bridge between young thinkers and policy leadership for years to come in Tamil Nadu.
