DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin inaugurated and actively participated in Puthuyuga Sirpikal, an unprecedented mega student and youth conclave organized in Tiruvannamalai on September 11, 2015. Welcomed with immense enthusiasm by thousands of undergraduate and postgraduate students from institutions across northern and central Tamil Nadu, Stalin expressed delight at being surrounded by passionate young minds eager to debate public policy, technological advancement, and social justice.

Addressing the vast gathering, Stalin recalled that the foundational strength of the Self-Respect and Dravidian movements was forged through mass student mobilizations led by icons like Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna, and Muthamizharignar Kalaignar Karunanidhi. He highlighted that student conventions must function as laboratories of independent thought, critical questioning, and inclusive vision, countering the prevailing administrative stagnation that had deprived Tamil Nadu's collegiate youth of modern employment avenues and educational infrastructure under AIADMK rule.

Stalin urged the students to cultivate rational thinking, social empathy, and democratic values. He reiterated that the DMK will champion higher educational access, eliminate corrupt university appointment practices, and ensure world-class research facilities for students across the entire state without any compromise whatsoever.
