Commemorating the 107th birth anniversary of the legendary founder of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Perarignar C. N. Annadurai, in mid-September 2015, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin paid emotional and reverent floral tributes. Leading party leaders and thousands of cadres in commemorative ceremonies, Stalin recalled Anna's peerless eloquence, democratic statesmanship, and lifelong struggle to secure self-respect, cultural dignity, and federal autonomy for the Tamil people. He highlighted that Anna's historic triumph in the 1967 assembly elections permanently transformed the political trajectory of the state, laying the foundation for inclusive welfare governance, renaming the state as Tamil Nadu, legalizing Self-Respect marriages, and implementing the historic two-language policy. Stalin emphasized that Anna's enduring motto—'Duty, Dignity, Discipline'—and his guiding philosophy of seeing God in the smile of the poor remained the permanent moral compass of the Dravidian movement. In the face of authoritarian misrule and civic stagnation under the ruling AIADMK government, Stalin urged every party worker to draw inspiration from Anna's selfless idealism, rededicating themselves to serving common citizens and re-establishing principled, visionary Dravidian governance in Tamil Nadu.
