Marking the fourth day of his transformative Namakku Naame statewide journey, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin completed an energetic tour across the coastal and inland constituencies of Tuticorin district. Known for its bustling maritime seaport, historic pearl fishery, and vibrant commerce, Tuticorin accorded a rousing reception to Stalin as he traversed market streets, educational campuses, and rural panchayats. Stalin engaged in comprehensive dialogue with college students, small farmers, and women members of self-help groups, seeking their candid assessments of local developmental bottlenecks and state policies.
Students raised concerns regarding the lack of local employment opportunities and exorbitant tuition fees in higher education, while farmers highlighted the delayed desilting of irrigation channels linked to the Srivaikuntam dam. Women self-help group members detailed how their microcredit initiatives had been undermined by lack of government support. Stalin assured all sections that the DMK was committed to inclusive, balanced growth across Tuticorin. He pledged to promote port-based industrialization, enhance rural irrigation networks, and empower youth and women through targeted welfare and educational initiatives upon assuming office, creating sustainable economic opportunities, fair wages, and prosperity for every community.
