Marking the tenth day of his transformative Namakku Naame mass outreach tour in late September 2015, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin carried out an extensive series of public consultations across Sivaganga district. Traversing through rural villages, artisan hamlets, and municipal towns, Stalin engaged intimately with diverse sections of the local population, including dryland farmers, rural youth, women belonging to self-help groups, small traders, and traditional Chettinad craftspeople. Local residents candidly shared their daily struggles regarding the acute shortage of drinking water, declining agricultural productivity, lack of industrial investment, and the complete absence of local employment avenues for educated graduates. Stalin listened attentively, taking detailed notes on regional developmental deficits and constructive policy recommendations offered by community elders and civic leaders. He emphasized that the primary purpose of Namakku Naame was to transform governance from a top-down bureaucratic exercise into a participatory, people-powered democracy. Stalin affirmed that every genuine grievance and creative suggestion received in Sivaganga would be systematically integrated into the DMK's forthcoming assembly election manifesto, pledging that a future DMK government would implement targeted development initiatives to revitalize the socio-economic landscape of southern Tamil Nadu.
