Editorial context

During his Namakku Naame visit to Coimbatore in October 2015, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin held a thought-provoking interaction with software engineers, IT executives, and young tech founders at the Coimbatore IT Park (TIDEL Park). Acknowledging Coimbatore's immense potential as a thriving secondary technology hub after Chennai, Stalin discussed the challenges hindering the expansion of information technology and knowledge-based industries in Tier-2 cities. Young entrepreneurs shared their aspirations to build globally competitive software products and deep-tech enterprises but highlighted the lack of state incubation infrastructure, venture capital access, and modern bandwidth facilities. Stalin recalled that the landmark TIDEL Park infrastructure across Tamil Nadu was pioneered under the leadership of DMK President Dr. Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi to position the state on the global IT map. He lamented that the subsequent AIADMK regime failed to market Coimbatore's technical talent or attract multinational technology firms. Stalin pledged that a future DMK government would introduce a comprehensive startup policy, establish angel funding networks, and build state-of-the-art incubation hubs, empowering young entrepreneurs to drive Tamil Nadu's knowledge economy and generate high-value local employment opportunities and long-term economic growth.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
