During his Namakku Naame campaign tour through Cuddalore district in October 2015, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin visited the memorial of Mozhipor Thiyagi Rajendran to pay reverent floral tributes to the historic Tamil language martyr. Rajendran, a valiant student of Annamalai University, was shot dead during the historic 1965 anti-Hindi imposition agitation, sacrificing his youth to defend the linguistic identity and self-respect of the Tamil people. Recalling Rajendran's supreme sacrifice, Stalin emphasized that the Dravidian movement's enduring strength was built upon the selfless dedication of student martyrs who fearlessly resisted cultural hegemony and political oppression. Addressing hundreds of university students and youth volunteers who gathered at the memorial site, Stalin highlighted that youth have historically functioned as the indispensable catalysts of societal awakening and political transformation in Tamil Nadu. He urged today's younger generation to channel that same principled idealism to confront contemporary challenges, including autocratic misgovernance, state corruption, and unemployment. Stalin declared that the DMK remained steadfast in safeguarding Tamil cultural pride and promoting youth-led leadership to create an equitable, progressive society and protect fundamental linguistic dignity across Tamil Nadu.
