Reacting sharply to escalating instances of state overreach and politically motivated investigations in late October 2015, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin condemned the AIADMK administration for brazenly subverting constitutional governance. He pointed out that executive authorities, revenue officials, and police departments were being routinely coerced into serving as private enforcement wings for ruling party bosses. By fabricating criminal cases, orchestrating midnight raids, and harassing political adversaries, commercial establishments, and critics, the government demonstrated absolute contempt for the rule of law. Stalin stated that such unbridled abuse of administrative power went far beyond mere procedural lapses; it constituted an outright insult and challenge to the integrity of the judicial system. He warned that when executive institutions bypass judicial safeguards to enforce partisan vendettas, public confidence in democratic institutions is gravely undermined. Stalin called upon the legal fraternity and judiciary to take proactive notice of executive lawlessness, declaring that the DMK would fearlessly resist state tyranny through constitutional courts and popular democratic resistance across the entire state to safeguard democratic rights, judicial dignity, and lawful executive accountability from authoritarian overreach and political intimidation.
