As floodwaters submerged entire residential sectors, families lost crucial personal paperwork, including school and university educational certificates, passports, ration cards, Aadhaar cards, property deeds, and driving licences. Recognizing the acute administrative hurdles that ordinary citizens would encounter while dealing with complex bureaucratic procedures for reissuance, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin announced that the DMK legal wing would extend pro bono assistance. He directed party advocates and legal professionals across all affected districts to establish dedicated helpdesks to draft applications, file statutory affidavits, and liaise with government departments completely free of cost. Stalin highlighted that vulnerable low-income households and students could not afford cumbersome legal fees or procedural red tape in the wake of such severe economic distress. This proactive community initiative provided tangible structural relief, enabling distressed survivors to rebuild their legal and civic identities quickly while holding government bodies accountable to ensure hassle-free, expedited replacement of lost personal documentation without administrative harassment or unnecessary delay.
