Delivering a keynote address at the state conference of the DMK Legal Wing held in the historic city of Madurai, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin commended the party's advocate fraternity for their courageous and relentless defense of democratic rights, federal principles, and social justice. Addressing thousands of lawyers who gathered from across Tamil Nadu, Stalin highlighted that the legal wing had consistently functioned as the intellectual shield and constitutional vanguard of the Dravidian movement, standing steadfastly against executive authoritarianism, illegal detentions, and political vendettas.
Stalin noted that the conference had unanimously adopted ten comprehensive resolutions addressing crucial issues of national and state legal significance. These included urgent demands to make Tamil an official language of the Madras High Court, implement statutory reservations in judicial appointments, establish an independent Lokayukta ombudsman, and enhance welfare security for junior and senior advocates. Stalin condemned the AIADMK administration for attempting to subjugate law enforcement and undermining independent legal institutions through arbitrary appointments. He pledged that a newly elected DMK government would honor every conference resolution, modernize subordinate court infrastructure, protect human rights, and ensure that the judicial system functions with absolute impartiality and accessible justice for the poorest citizen.
