Continuing his extensive urban outreach across the capital city during the fourth phase of his historic Namakku Naame statewide journey, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin visited Anna Nagar in Chennai, engaging in a detailed interactive meeting with members and office bearers of local Residents' Welfare Associations (RWAs). Stalin walked through residential avenues and neighborhood commercial streets, listening to pressing civic concerns regarding overflowing storm-water drains, deteriorating road surfaces, reckless commercial encroachments on residential zones, and unaddressed municipal garbage accumulation.
Stalin commended the civic activism and vigilance of Residents' Welfare Associations, describing them as the indispensable grassroots guardians of urban governance and community wellbeing. He sharply criticized the AIADMK-controlled Chennai Municipal Corporation for absolute bureaucratic apathy, pointing out that local tax-paying citizens were denied basic municipal amenities while civic funds were siphoned off through corrupt contract tendering. Stalin outlined the DMK's progressive urban renewal vision, promising to institutionalize regular consultative ward committees, upgrade decentralized sewage networks, build modern pedestrian pathways, and preserve neighborhood parks and green spaces. He affirmed that an incoming DMK administration would work in close partnership with RWAs to restore clean, accountable, and citizen-friendly municipal governance in Chennai.
