Will be attending a town hall with IT professionals on Jan 30. Looking forward to discuss issues and ideas to make TN the leader in IT!
Announcing a major policy initiative to revitalize Tamil Nadu's knowledge economy, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin shared his anticipation of meeting software developers, hardware engineers, and digital entrepreneurs at a specialized town hall conference in Chennai. Stalin expressed keen eagerness to engage in a substantive, unfiltered dialogue regarding the strategic roadmap required to restore Tamil Nadu to its rightful standing as India's premier information technology powerhouse and innovation capital.
Stalin observed that while Tamil Nadu pioneered the IT revolution in south India under successive DMK governments led by Kalaignar Karunanidhi, five years of administrative apathy, infrastructure decay, and policy inertia under the AIADMK regime had caused the state to lose its competitive momentum to neighboring tech destinations. He stressed that revitalizing the sector demanded urgent policy interventions, including developing integrated Tier-2 tech clusters, upgrading civic infrastructure along the Old Mahabalipuram Road express corridor, fostering startup incubation, and reforming technical higher education. Stalin stated that the upcoming town hall would provide a direct collaborative platform to draft a forward-looking IT policy, assuring tech workers that an incoming DMK administration would champion their professional growth and economic security.
