Editorial context

Connecting directly with the dynamic knowledge economy workforce of Tamil Nadu, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin hosted a specialized interactive town hall with information technology (IT) professionals, software engineers, and digital entrepreneurs in Chennai during the fourth leg of Namakku Naame. Stalin listened attentively as tech employees and startup founders outlined critical sector challenges, including the severe lack of social infrastructure and public transit along the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) tech corridor, unannounced power cuts, obsolete college engineering curricula, and bureaucratic hurdles hindering venture capital funding.

Stalin highlighted the historic legacy of the DMK in making Tamil Nadu an IT pioneer, recalling how Kalaignar Karunanidhi had formulated the state's first comprehensive IT policy in 1997 and established the iconic TIDEL Park in Taramani. In contrast, he criticized the AIADMK for five years of stagnation that allowed rival states like Karnataka and Telangana to surge ahead in tech investments and startup incubators. Stalin assured the tech fraternity that their valuable recommendations would be directly integrated into the DMK 2016 election manifesto, promising modernized transit, world-class startup incubation hubs, and advanced research facilities across tier-two cities.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
