Expressing profound sorrow and deep alarm over the moral degradation of the state's executive environment, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin voiced grave concern over the unprecedented wave of mysterious deaths, unexplained suicides, and intense mental distress plaguing government officials across Tamil Nadu. Stalin pointed out that under AIADMK administration, dedicated civil servants, engineers, police officers, and revenue officials were subjected to unbearable political intimidation, arbitrary transfers, and immense pressure to execute corrupt, illegal directives on behalf of ruling party syndicates.
Stalin recalled the shocking suicides of honest agricultural engineer S. Muthukumarasamy and several senior administrative functionaries, highlighting that honest officers were treated with utter contempt while corrupt favorites enjoyed complete impunity. He observed that when public servants who enforce laws and manage state administration live in constant terror of political retribution, the entire democratic governance apparatus collapses into dysfunction. Stalin stated that creating a safe, professional, and ethical working atmosphere for civil servants is the foremost duty of an enlightened government. He warned corrupt ministers and political bosses that the DMK would institute transparent, independent judicial inquiries into all mysterious deaths and restore administrative integrity, dignity, and morale across Tamil Nadu's public service machinery.
