Demonstrating profound empathy and solidarity with the suffering public across Tamil Nadu, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin officially announced that he would not celebrate his sixty-third birthday in view of the widespread devastation and lingering misery caused by the historic monsoon floods. In an emotional appeal addressed to party cadres, functionaries, and well-wishers, Stalin requested that no celebratory banners, public hoardings, or expensive festivities be organized to mark his birthday on the first of March.
Stalin emphasized that when hundreds of poor families were still mourning the tragic loss of their loved ones, countless homes in Chennai, Cuddalore, Kancheepuram, and Tiruvallur remained shattered, and small traders and daily-wage earners were struggling to rebuild their livelihoods, any personal celebration would be deeply insensitive. He instructed party workers to direct all intended celebratory resources entirely toward community relief works, including providing educational aids to affected school children, donating medical supplies to primary health centers, and organizing free medical checkups for vulnerable populations. Stalin affirmed that genuine political leadership is defined by shared empathy with citizens' pain, calling upon the DMK fraternity to dedicate themselves to selfless public service and grassroots mobilization.
