Sounding a stern warning to the arrogant ruling establishment, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin cautioned Chief Minister Jayalalithaa that you cannot fool all the people all the time, asserting that the day of democratic reckoning was fast approaching. Addressing crowded public rallies, Stalin highlighted that after five years of governance paralysis, empty assembly announcements under Rule 110, unfulfilled manifesto pledges, and rampant corruption, the ruling AIADMK was attempting once again to mislead voters through eleventh-hour cosmetic inaugurations and borrowed welfare slogans.

Stalin observed that ordinary citizens across Tamil Nadu, from distressed farmers who lost their crops to educated youth who were denied public employment, had fully seen through the ruling party's deceitful posturing. Homemakers struggling against crushing domestic inflation and citizens who suffered through the avoidable man-made Chennai floods would not forget the callous neglect they endured under this authoritarian regime. Stalin declared that the democratic consciousness of Tamil society is deeply rooted in self-respect and political discernment. He affirmed that the people had united behind the secular progressive alliance, expressing total confidence that the upcoming 2016 assembly election would deliver a crushing defeat to AIADMK misrule and usher in a progressive DMK government.
