Assessing the unmistakable groundswell of popular resentment across the state, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin remarked that even Chief Minister Jayalalithaa had finally recognized that her detached style of video-conference governance had reached its inevitable end. Addressing public campaign meetings, Stalin observed that for five long years, the Chief Minister remained entirely invisible to ordinary citizens, never visiting drought-hit farming villages, flood-ravaged hamlets, or distressed industrial clusters, choosing instead to inaugurate symbolic schemes remotely through closed-circuit television screens from her air-conditioned office.
Stalin stated that this unapproachable, monarchical functioning had alienated citizens from all walks of life, from struggling farmers and unemployed youth to neglected government employees and small traders. The overwhelming public response and massive crowds greeting the DMK's statewide grassroots outreach campaigns had sent shockwaves through the ruling party's leadership, forcing the Chief Minister into panicked electoral posturing. Stalin declared that democracy is fundamentally about physical presence, compassionate listening, and constant accountability to the people. He affirmed that the electorate of Tamil Nadu had resolved to dismantle this unresponsive regime and elect an accessible, energetic DMK administration committed to governing directly among the people.
