Expressing deep anguish over the severe employment crisis gripping the state, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin condemned the AIADMK administration for turning a blind eye to the plight of eighty-six lakh educated youth registered in state employment exchanges. Stalin pointed out that while millions of qualified engineering graduates, polytechnic diploma holders, teachers, and postgraduates were desperately waiting for gainful livelihood opportunities, the Jayalalithaa government had completely frozen regular recruitment across government departments and public sector undertakings for nearly five years.
Stalin drew sharp attention to the scandalous reality that with assembly elections approaching, the ruling regime had suddenly begun executing hurried, backdoor recruitments and arbitrary contractual appointments riddled with massive bribery allegations and procedural violations. Lucrative postings were being auctioned to the highest bidders while meritorious candidates from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds were ruthlessly sidelined. Stalin warned corrupt officials and political middlemen that every fraudulent appointment made in violation of established recruitment norms would be subjected to rigorous judicial inquiry under an incoming DMK administration. He pledged that the DMK would cancel irregular appointments, revamp employment exchanges into dynamic placement hubs, and fill three lakh state vacancies transparently on pure merit.
