Mounting a scathing indictment of the utter uselessness of AIADMK parliamentarians, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin questioned why forty-nine AIADMK members of Parliament chose to stall parliamentary proceedings over frivolous matters while maintaining absolute silence on crucial issues directly impacting Tamil Nadu. Speaking to reporters, Stalin expressed utter astonishment at the hypocrisy of the ruling party, noting that despite having the third-largest parliamentary contingent in India, the AIADMK had never raised its voice to defend the state's vital socio-cultural and economic rights.
Stalin highlighted how the AIADMK MPs remained completely muted when the traditional cultural sport of Jallikattu was banned, failed to secure adequate financial compensation from the Union government for the catastrophic 2015 Chennai floods, and showed total indifference toward the persistent attacks and arrests of Tamil fishermen by the Sri Lankan navy. He observed that whenever the state desperately needed strong, articulate advocacy in New Delhi, AIADMK parliamentarians behaved like silent statues. Stalin declared that stalling Parliament for selfish political gains while abandoning Tamil Nadu's genuine grievances proved that the AIADMK was unfit to represent the state's self-respect and federal interests.
