DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin expressed profound anguish and outrage on March 15, 2016, following the brutal daylight murder of a young man in Tirupur district, warning that social harmony and law and order had completely collapsed under AIADMK rule. The horrific attack in broad daylight at Udumalaipettai shocked the conscience of Tamil Nadu, leaving citizens terrified by the audacity of violent perpetrators operating without fear of law enforcement.

Stalin pointed out that such ruthless crimes in public spaces demonstrated a dangerous breakdown in police intelligence, proactive deterrence, and governance oversight. He noted that instead of ensuring public safety and protecting vulnerable citizens, police machinery under the incumbent regime had been degraded through political interference, administrative stagnation, and ceremonial duties. Stalin emphasized that when violent hate crimes occur unchecked in crowded streets, ordinary citizens lose confidence in the administration.

Demanding immediate arrest and exemplary punishment for all culprits and conspirators involved, Stalin insisted that the state government provide comprehensive security and medical care to the surviving victim.
