DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin delivered a keynote address at the state-level Social Justice Conference organized by the Dravidar Kazhagam in Tiruchirappalli on March 20, 2016. Addressing thousands of delegates, social activists, and cadre, Stalin reiterated the DMK's unyielding commitment to defending constitutional reservations and advancing the historic gains of the Dravidian self-respect movement.
Stalin paid glowing tributes to Periyar E.V. Ramasamy's pioneering struggle against caste stratification, gender discrimination, and social hegemony. He stated that Tamil Nadu's exceptional human development indicators, high female literacy rates, and diversified professional workforce were direct outcomes of consecutive reservation policies enacted by DMK administrations under Kalaignar Karunanidhi. However, Stalin cautioned that new threats were emerging from central policies seeking to impose uniform entrance examinations and roll back state-specific reservation safeguards.
Stalin pledged that the DMK, upon returning to office, would actively champion constitutional amendments to safeguard 69 percent reservation, push for quotas in the private sector, and protect social justice across educational admissions. He urged progressive forces to unite against divisive ideologies and ensure that social equity remains Tamil Nadu's defining guiding light in public administration.
