DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin hosted a live interactive consultation session with college and university students on March 26, 2016, utilizing live streaming technology to engage directly with young citizens across Tamil Nadu. The dialogue focused on structural challenges facing students, including outdated curricula, steep college tuition fees, inadequate campus infrastructure, and the growing shortage of quality employment opportunities for graduates.
Stalin listened to grievances presented by students from various academic disciplines, emphasizing that youth perspectives must guide future state policy. He outlined the DMK's commitment to reforming university administration, eliminating corrupt practices in faculty appointments, and modernizing vocational and technical training institutions. Stalin also reaffirmed the party's election manifesto pledge to waive outstanding educational loans taken by underprivileged students, relieving families of crushing debt burdens.
Highlighting the importance of transparent two-way communication, Stalin encouraged students to actively participate in public affairs and voice their democratic aspirations. He promised that a DMK administration would create robust industry partnerships, establish modern research facilities in state universities, and restore Tamil Nadu as an inclusive center of educational excellence where merit and equal opportunity prevail.
