2 ppl died at CM's afternoon rally in Salem due to heat & exhaustion. ADMK sacrificing lives of TN ppl for comfort of its leader
Expressing profound shock and grief over a horrifying tragedy, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin condemned the callousness of the AIADMK leadership after two innocent citizens tragically lost their lives during an election rally addressed by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in Salem. The victims succumbed to extreme heat stroke, dehydration, and sheer physical exhaustion after being detained in open, unshaded enclosures for several hours under blazing midday sun. Stalin pointed out that while elaborate air-conditioned arrangements and barricaded pathways were prepared for the Chief Minister's comfort, ordinary participants were denied basic drinking water and emergency medical aid.
Stalin stated that this fatal incident laid bare the authoritarian disregard and utter contempt the ruling party harbored toward human lives. He noted that forcing poor citizens and daily-wage workers into unventilated open grounds simply to project artificial crowd numbers was an unconscionable abuse of political power. He demanded immediate criminal accountability, stringent guidelines from the Election Commission restricting midday political gatherings during summer heatwaves, and substantial financial compensation for the bereaved families. Stalin affirmed that public safety and human dignity must always supersede political ego, expressing his deepest heartfelt condolences to the grieving families.
