Presenting the inclusive socio-economic commitments of the DMK 2016 election manifesto, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin highlighted transformative policies aimed at uplifting coastal workers and securing public servants. Speaking at campaign events, Stalin condemned the AIADMK administration for neglecting traditional fishing communities while simultaneously antagonizing the state's vast government workforce. He pointed out that despite repeated assurances, coastal families faced severe social exclusion and bureaucratic apathy, while public servants were subjected to punitive actions and arbitrary service conditions.

Stalin announced that a DMK government would strongly recommend and pursue the inclusion of traditional marine fishermen in the Scheduled Tribes list, ensuring constitutional reservations in higher education, public employment, and targeted developmental funding. He also committed to substantially enhancing seasonal fishing ban relief allowances and diesel subsidies. For government employees and school teachers, Stalin reiterated the DMK's historic pledge to scrap the contributory pension scheme and bring back the Old Pension Scheme, guaranteeing dignified retirement security. He affirmed that the DMK alliance stands for social justice, worker rights, and inclusive administrative dignity, promising to implement every manifesto pledge with full transparency and speed.
