Stalin cited a shocking incident in Karur where an armed assailant brazenly attacked the district Superintendent of Police with a pistol, underscoring that when senior law enforcement officials themselves lacked personal security, the vulnerability of ordinary citizens was terrifying. He blamed the crisis on the political subjugation of the police department, where competent officers were sidelined while the force was diverted to harass political opponents and shield illicit liquor syndicates. Stalin promised that a DMK administration would completely depoliticize the police department, restore operational autonomy, modernize intelligence wings, and ensure stringent enforcement to guarantee the safety of every citizen.
