Addressing a spirited election rally in Namakkal, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin launched a searing critique of the AIADMK regime's widespread corruption in flagship welfare programs. He expressed deep anguish over rampant irregularities and procurement scams in the nutritious noon-meal program, which directly impacted the health, nourishment, and daily wellbeing of more than fifty lakh school children across the state. Stalin pointed out that while children were deprived of quality food and eggs, ruling party politicians and middlemen pocketed massive kickbacks through manipulated supply contracts.
Stalin also highlighted how grassroots welfare employees, including noon-meal cooks, anganwadi helpers, and transport workers, had been driven to nationwide strikes and street protests due to unpaid dues, precarious service conditions, and unfulfilled wage promises. He criticized the authoritarian government for responding to legitimate worker demands with police repression and suspensions rather than compassionate dialogue. Stalin assured the people of Namakkal that a DMK administration would thoroughly clean up welfare distribution, institute strict social audits, eliminate corruption, and regularize welfare workers' service terms. He pledged that the DMK would restore dignity, nutrition, and accountability to Tamil Nadu's social welfare framework.
