During an energetic election tour covering nine assembly constituencies across Salem district, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin mounted a direct challenge against Chief Minister Jayalalithaa regarding her unfulfilled industrial promises. Addressing large gatherings of local entrepreneurs, artisans, and unemployed youth, Stalin demanded accountability for the long-delayed MSME manufacturing cluster and the promised creation of ten thousand industrial jobs that had featured prominently in previous government announcements. He noted that despite tall rhetoric, the project remained entirely on paper while local enterprises struggled under persistent power cuts and high taxes.
Stalin highlighted the plight of Salem's traditional sago, handloom, and steel fabrication sectors, which had been abandoned without institutional credit, modern technology subsidies, or infrastructure backing. Instead of fostering an enabling ecosystem for small businesses, the AIADMK administration suffocated local entrepreneurship through bureaucratic extortion and systemic apathy. Stalin reaffirmed the DMK's steadfast commitment to reviving micro, small, and medium enterprises across the district by guaranteeing continuous industrial electricity, subsidized land parcels, single-window clearances, and dedicated export assistance. He urged Salem voters to defeat the deceitful ruling regime and elect the DMK to build durable economic prosperity.
