Editorial context

During his election campaign across Vellore district, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin exposed Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa for falsely claiming credit for the monumental Vellore Combined Water Supply Scheme, placing factual administrative records before the public. Addressing voters in Katpadi and Vellore, Stalin stated that the AIADMK regime was engaging in shameless political deception by inaugurating projects conceptualized, funded, and initiated under DMK rule.

Stalin explained that the 1,295 crore rupee mega drinking water project was envisioned by Muthamizharignar Kalaignar in 2008 to permanently resolve the acute fluoride contamination and chronic groundwater depletion plaguing Vellore district. The DMK government negotiated bilateral funding with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), secured central clearances, and commenced major pipeline laying works before leaving office in 2011. However, the AIADMK administration deliberately slowed down project implementation for five years, only to hastily inaugurate it right before assembly elections to claim undeserved political credit. Stalin pointed out that while claiming credit, the government failed even to operationalize water delivery in several outlying rural blocks.

Stalin urged voters to see through the ruling party's deceptive propaganda and elect the DMK to ensure honest developmental governance.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
