DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin unveiled major infrastructural and industrial commitments for Vellore district during his election campaign, pledging that an incoming DMK government will ensure piped water to every household through the Cauvery combined drinking water scheme and establish a state-of-the-art leather industrial park. Addressing massive public gatherings in Vellore, Stalin highlighted the urgent developmental requirements of the northern region.

Stalin recalled that the landmark Vellore Combined Water Supply Scheme, drawing water from the Cauvery river near Mettur to supply over fifty lakh citizens across Vellore, Tirupattur, Ranipet, and Katpadi, was conceived, planned, and sanctioned by the DMK regime under Muthamizharignar Kalaignar in 2008 with Japanese JICA funding. However, poor execution by the AIADMK administration had deprived peripheral towns and rural panchayats of adequate water supply. Stalin assured that DMK will complete last-mile distribution networks to cover all tail-end areas. In addition, to boost regional manufacturing, create youth employment, and address effluent treatment challenges, Stalin promised to establish an integrated leather park equipped with advanced zero-liquid-discharge common effluent treatment plants.

Stalin urged Vellore voters to elect DMK candidates to revitalize the district's industrial growth and ensure permanent drinking water security.
