DMK treasurer and Leader of Opposition M.K. Stalin visited the grieving parents of Dr. Saravanan Ganesan at their residence in Tiruppur, offering heartfelt condolences and solidary support following the tragic and unexplained death of their son in New Delhi. Dr. Saravanan, a meritorious postgraduate medical student pursuing an MD at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), was found dead under deeply suspicious circumstances in his rented room.
Listening to the agonizing grief of the parents, who sacrificed everything from their modest earnings as small-scale weavers to fund their son's medical education, Stalin assured them that the DMK will stand by their family until justice is secured. He pointed out that local Delhi Police were treating the incident casually without exploring obvious angles of foul play, professional rivalry, or caste discrimination. Stalin urged the Union and Tamil Nadu governments to immediately transfer the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to ensure an impartial and professional probe. He emphasized that the safety and dignity of Tamil students pursuing education in national institutions must be safeguarded.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK will exert continuous political pressure to ensure the real perpetrators are brought to book.
