DMK treasurer and Leader of Opposition M.K. Stalin paid floral tributes to Dravidian icon, former Chief Minister, and DMK founder Perarignar C.N. Annadurai on his 108th birth anniversary in Chennai. Leading party leaders and thousands of cadres in paying homage at Anna's memorial on Marina Beach, Stalin called upon all party workers and citizens to take a solemn ideological pledge to preserve and practice the guiding motto of duty, dignity, and discipline imparted by Anna.

Stalin recalled that Perarignar Anna transformed Tamil Nadu through historic policy decisions, including officially renaming Madras State as Tamil Nadu, enacting legal recognition for Self-Respect marriages, and establishing the two-language policy that safeguarded regional linguistic identity. He highlighted that Anna's visionary governance demonstrated how political power could serve as an instrument of social justice, subaltern empowerment, and federal autonomy. At a time when autocratic tendencies and communal forces sought to erode federalism and state rights across the country, Stalin noted that Anna's democratic principles remained more vital and relevant than ever.

Stalin reaffirmed that DMK will relentlessly carry forward Anna's progressive vision to build an egalitarian, self-respecting Tamil society.
